In the afterglow, she looked over at the detective she had earlier handcuffed to a chair when they were having sex.
She walked over to her purse and pulled out a cigarette, lit it, then brought the ashtray to his bed where she sat up against the headboard and blew a few smoke rings.
When the Coltraine song ended, she slyly smiled and told him, “You know, Detective, I’m really going to miss this.”
Suspicious, he asked, “What do you mean you’re going to miss this?”
She didn’t answer and gathered her clothes.
“Jessica,” he repeated with growing anger. “What did you mean?”
She slowly put on her strappy sandals.
He repeated, “Jessica, what’s going on?”
After dressing, she reached into her handbag, pulled out a compact, reapplied her cherry red lipstick, then enunciating each word slowly said, “Detective Harrison, you are very lucky that I like you.”
She winked at him, walked over, and kissed the top of his head.
He glared at her. "What game are you playing at now?"
She headed towards the door.
"Jessica! Get me out of this chair!"
He tried to break free from the chair without success. “Get the hell back here right now!” he screamed as she disappeared into the night, leaving him alone with his anger and vowing to get even with her.
