An Erotic Version of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility

Jane Austen with Zombies? Jane Austen as erotica? What's the world coming to? What would Jane say? We will never know the answer, but it's fun to imagine. I think that Marianne in Sense and Sensibility is one of the most sensual characters Austen ever created--if we don't count Lydia--that blatant slut in Pride and Prejudice. Marianne is guided by her emotions and tends to get carried away, especially when it comes to love. She is so obsessed with romance and feelings, that I can envision her "going all the way" with bad boy, Willoughby.

My modern-day Austen variation is a romantic comedy about Marianne's sexual awakening. In the first scenes of Austen's book, we find Marianne drenched in a rainstorm when she first meets dashing Willoughby, who comes to her rescue after she's fallen and twisted her ankle. I take it a step further by having her leave the house and not only forgetting an umbrella, despite warnings that it's going to rain, but also forgetting to wear a bra under her thin cotton blouse. By the time Willoughby sees her, she's so soaking wet that she could win a wet t-shirt contest at a sleazy bar. She is very well-endowed, a fact that Willoughly can't help but notice. No wonder he gets so much enjoyment reading, upon her request, the very sexy poem "I Sing the Body Electric" by Walt Whitman.

She tries to keep her feelings in check, but each time she sees him, her powers of resistance break down, especially after he accuses her of being afraid of sex.

Her eroticism has a playful side when she and her sister Elinor attend a masquerade party in the Hollywood Hills. She dresses up like a flirty and naughty Scarlett O'Hara and a sexy cop at the party ends her handcuffing her when she won't behave herself. Her sister, Elinor, who's usually so judgmental and prudent, shows up at the party dressed as Cat Woman. A movie star famous for his role as Mr. Darcy takes a shine to her and we see a whole new side of her also. Her inhibitions go right out the window, and Marianne discovers her older sister sitting on Darcy's lap, wrapping her Cat Woman whip around his neck and making wickedly playful sexual innuendos. When Marianne comes back home from the party, she looks at her naked body and .... I won't tell you....You have to read the book.
